Hebrews 11:8-12 "Faith Willing"

Abraham is the father of the faithful and is an example of faith willing. Abraham believed in the Lord and He accounted to him for righteousness. Sarah, his wife, joins the adventure by bearing a child even though she has long passed the age of child bearing. This appointed event occurs to begin the genealogy of Jesus Christ. Is anything to hard for the Lord?

Abraham was:

  1. Willing to go without knowing where

  2. Willing to go without knowing why

  3. Willing to believe and trust as he waits

God said to Abraham; “You have skirted this mountain long enough, turn northward.” Today, our mountain may not be geographical, but it is a place. What is the place that you have spent too much time in that God is calling you out of? It is time to move in faith willing. You were created for good works. We are citizens of Heaven making our way through this earth as we walk with God through faith in Jesus.

Hebrews 11:7 "Faith Working"

God views time morally. Not by hours, days or years but in seasons. Currently, just as in the days of Noah, God is being pushed out of our culture. The increasing majority of people do not want to talk about Jesus, they do not want His counsel.. Godly fear is disappearing. We are at a crossroads of faith. So was this during the days of Noah. But Noah found grace in the eyes of the Lord and demonstrated how faith works. How? Four key points are:

  1. Faith

  2. Fear

  3. Work

  4. Testimony

Will Noah hear, believe and obey? Does Noah believe the God who spoke this is faithful? Will Noah live out the parable of the talents, prepare and get to work? Noah chose to have faith, fear God, stepped out in faith and went to work in obedience. Will we hear, believe and obey? Let us all be doers not hearers of the Word. Our obedient Christian walk is a walk of faith, one step at a time.

Accept today God’s free gift of salvation. Call upon the name of the Lord and be saved. Seek Him while He can still be found. His evidence is all around us. How is your heart? If you have questions, need someone to talk to or would just like to say hi, contact us.

Hebrews 11:5-6 "Faith:Walking"

Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. The prophet Enoch’s name means dedicated and as he believed, in faith, it changed him. Nobody accidentally walks with God. It has to be intentional. We need to be going the same way, the same pace and with the same faith. We are all prone to wander and need to yoke back up to Jesus.

5 key points to remember about Enoch are:

  1. His name

  2. He walked with God for over 300 years

  3. He leaves behind a powerful testimony

  4. He was taken away before he saw death

  5. He pleases God

Enoch walked with God during the most wickedest time in human history. The remedy for change is to walk with Jesus. To run our God given race with endurance in the short time we have. How to begin? Start! Just start with one little step every day. Walking by faith pleases God. He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him. What will be said of your faith?

Hebrews 11:4 "Faith Accepted"

God is the sun, you cannot look at it, but without it, you cannot see anything. Then if God is the sun then faith is our eyes.

Three key points in this message are; accepted, approved and audible.

  1. Don’t give God what you want, give to God what He wants

  2. First offer your heart, then give to God your sacrifice

  3. Trust God to work through injustice

Here is the progression. At first we did not care, then we cared, then we wanted to give what was important to us, then we wanted to give what is important to Him. It is the heart not the sacrifice. When God asks a question, He is trying to tell us something.

Accept today God’s free gift of salvation. Call upon the name of the Lord and be saved. Seek Him while He can still be found. His evidence is all around us. How is your heart? If you have questions, need someone to talk to or would just like to say hi, contact us.

Hebrews 11:1-3 "Faith: Defined"

Faith defined: Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.

Substance is the sub floor, our foundation, which is Jesus Christ. Simplified, faith operates in 2 realms. In things hoped for, things coming in the future and in things unseen, things that are invisible. Why should we have faith? Because eye has not seen, nor ear heard, nor have entered into the heart of man the things which God has prepared for those who love him. There is more to this life than which we can only see. That is why we walk by faith and not by sight.

Accept today God’s free gift of salvation. Call upon the name of the Lord and be saved. Seek Him while He can still be found. His evidence is all around us. How is your heart? If you have questions, need someone to talk to or would just like to say hi, contact us.
