Hebrews 11:4 "Faith Accepted"

God is the sun, you cannot look at it, but without it, you cannot see anything. Then if God is the sun then faith is our eyes.

Three key points in this message are; accepted, approved and audible.

  1. Don’t give God what you want, give to God what He wants

  2. First offer your heart, then give to God your sacrifice

  3. Trust God to work through injustice

Here is the progression. At first we did not care, then we cared, then we wanted to give what was important to us, then we wanted to give what is important to Him. It is the heart not the sacrifice. When God asks a question, He is trying to tell us something.

Accept today God’s free gift of salvation. Call upon the name of the Lord and be saved. Seek Him while He can still be found. His evidence is all around us. How is your heart? If you have questions, need someone to talk to or would just like to say hi, contact us.

Hebrews 11:1-3 "Faith: Defined"

Faith defined: Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.

Substance is the sub floor, our foundation, which is Jesus Christ. Simplified, faith operates in 2 realms. In things hoped for, things coming in the future and in things unseen, things that are invisible. Why should we have faith? Because eye has not seen, nor ear heard, nor have entered into the heart of man the things which God has prepared for those who love him. There is more to this life than which we can only see. That is why we walk by faith and not by sight.

Accept today God’s free gift of salvation. Call upon the name of the Lord and be saved. Seek Him while He can still be found. His evidence is all around us. How is your heart? If you have questions, need someone to talk to or would just like to say hi, contact us.

Hebrews 10:26-39 "What Faith Doesn't Do"

This week before Easter, Holy Week or Passion Week, is a time of great jubilation and also of great sadness. The people shouted; “Hosanna, Hosanna, save now!” Later they would shout; “Crucify, Crucify!” Rejecting the work of salvation.

Jesus gives us 3 charges:

  1. Enter in by the blood of Jesus

  2. Hold fast to the hope that we have in Jesus

  3. Let us consider one another

We all will struggle in our obedience to God but when we drift and fall away, we run to Jesus in the spirit of repentance. We all have fallen short of the law because if we are guilty of one then we are guilty of all. We will all fail, so then it is direction not perfection. We are all in desperate need of a Savior and Jesus is the only remedy. Outside of Jesus there is no sacrifice for sin. It is finished.

Always remember what Jesus has done in your life and grow in more passion for Him. We need patient endurance to finish our race. How do we do this?

  1. By remembering the past victories

  2. By remembering the future promises

  3. By remembering that Jesus is coming

  4. By setting sail again

We are not walking aimlessly. Keep your eyes fixed on Jesus and run your race to completion.

Accept today God’s free gift of salvation. Call upon the name of the Lord and be saved. Seek Him while He can still be found. His evidence is all around us. How is your heart? If you have questions, need someone to talk to or would just like to say hi, contact us.

Hebrews 10:19-25 "Assembly Required"

This study into the book of Hebrews now moves from doctrinal to practical. Key points of this study are:

  1. Let us draw near to God

  2. Let us hold fast to the hope we have

  3. Let us consider one another

We are all sinners in desperate need for a Savior. Let us always draw near to Jesus with a true, real and honest heart. So come now, let us reason together. Though our sins are like scarlet He will make them white as snow. Christ Jesus came into this world to save sinners, of whom I am chief, said Paul. It is time for us with boldness to draw near, each day moving closer than the day before. Draw near to God and He will draw near to you. Therefore let us not lose hope because He who promised is faithful. The storms of life will come and we may not agree with His timing but He who promised is faithful.

Accept today God’s free gift of salvation. Call upon the name of the Lord and be saved. Seek Him while He can still be found. His evidence is all around us. How is your heart? If you have questions, need someone to talk to or would just like to say hi, contact us.

Hebrews 9:15 - 10:18 "Stumbling stone or Cornerstone?"

Hebrews is written to the Hebrews so we have to put on a Hebrew mindset of that time in history in order to understand the writer. The Hebrews wanted a sign because Jesus did not fit their expectations. They wanted a conquering king. So Jesus was a stumbling stone in their perspective. They expected another.

Jesus’ death was planned through promises, predicted through prophecy and fulfills all of God’s plans and purposes.

  1. A testament demands death

  2. Forgiveness demands blood

  3. Judgement demands a substitute

Jesus had to die for our sins to pay the price and complete the gift of eternal life. Without the shedding of blood there is no forgiveness of sins. The wages of sin is death. No works, no efforts, no deeds we can do in our life can cover our sins. We are all sinners saved by amazing grace.

The testator has to die for the will to be executed and then the assets dispersed to the beneficiaries. Jesus then rises from the dead, defeating death the devil and the grave to then become Executor of the will. No one took His life, He laid it down willingly. No one will stand before God in their own righteousness. But a pardon is not complete unless it is accepted.

Behold the Lamb of God who takes away the sins of the world. Removing them as far as the east is from the west.

Accept today God’s free gift of salvation. Call upon the name of the Lord and be saved. Seek Him while He can still be found. His evidence is all around us. How is your heart? If you have questions, need someone to talk to or would just like to say hi, contact us.
